Custom Leather Vest FAQ

Don't trust a size label — "XL" means something different at every vest maker out there. If you already own a vest you like the fit of, measure that instead of guessing off a chart. Chest width, shoulder width, overall length — those three numbers are what actually matter, and we'll walk you through taking them over WhatsApp if you're not sure.

Yes, it matters more than most people realize. We build with full-grain cowhide — the same standard the better vest makers use — because it's the grade that actually holds up to abrasion and ages well instead of cracking. If a vest maker doesn't tell you the leather grade upfront, that's usually a sign it's not full-grain.

Around 2 weeks from confirmation to shipping. We won't pretend that's the fastest in the industry — some shops quote 2-4 weeks — but that speed usually comes from templated designs. If your vest involves real patch work, hand-stitching, and back-and-forth on placement, that takes time to get right. If you're on a deadline, tell us and we'll be straight with you about what's realistic.

Yes, and this is the part we take most seriously. Send your patch layout — top rocker, center, bottom rocker, side patches — and you'll see it mapped out on a mockup before we touch a single piece of leather. Getting rocker placement wrong is the single most common complaint we hear about other vest makers, so we don't skip this step.

Yes — you'll get a digital mockup showing placement, sizing, and layout for approval first. Nothing gets cut until you say it's right. This is standard now across serious custom vest makers, and for good reason — it's the only way to catch a mistake before it's permanent

Zero minimum. One vest for yourself or fifty for your whole chapter, same process either way.

It's a standard option, not a special request — just flag it when you order and tell us your preferred position, and we'll build it into the design from the start.

Pricing depends on leather choice, patch complexity, and any extras like hardware or lining upgrades — rather than quote a generic range that might not apply to you, message us your specifics and we'll give you a real number. We take an advance payment to start production, with the balance due before it ships; installments are available if that's easier for you.

Because it's cut to your exact measurements, a custom vest is generally final sale — which is exactly why we confirm those measurements carefully with you before production starts, not after. If something's actually wrong on our end — a stitching defect, a build error — that's a different conversation, and we'll make it right.

Yes — this is something we do regularly. Every rider gets their own measurements, but the design, leather, and patch layout stay identical across the group, and we keep your club's spec on file so new members can order later and still match.
