How We Age the Leather

There are no shortcuts. Each hide is chosen based on its inherent qualities, and then we use our own methods of applying waxes, rub-off effects, and burnishings to give each piece an aged look from the inside out.

This gives you a tough brown leather jacket or a vintage leather jacket that only gets better with each passing season. No two jackets come out identical. That is the point.

How to Style a Distressed Leather Jacket

Wear it over a white shirt and jeans for a look that doesn't need anything more. Throw a tough brown leather jacket on with your cargo pants and boots to give a minimalist outfit some weight. Brown goes with a lot more color combinations than black does, and that's why our cognac and tobacco jackets go first when they are released.

Caring for Your Aged Leather Jacket

Conditioning the damaged jacket will not affect the leather. It will enhance it. Apply natural leather conditioner to the jacket two times a year, hang it on a wide hanger, and protect it from heat. The distressing is permanent. It is embedded in the hide.

Will the distressing wear off over time?

No. The fact that the weathered look becomes more pronounced on true full-grain leather with use makes it different from the superficial weathered look achieved on bonded leather.

Is each jacket unique?

Yes. As each hide is hand-crafted separately, there will be a difference from jacket to jacket. You have purchased an original and unique item, not one straight from a catalogue.
